AICompass ("we," "us," "our") operates aicompass.in and the AICompass mobile app (together, the "Platform"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account details: name, email address, and password (or your Google account, if you sign in with Google)
- Profile information you choose to add, such as a photo or job role
- Content you create: saved tools, reviews, ratings, and support messages
- Payment-related details when you subscribe to a paid plan (see "Payments" below — we do not store your full card number)
- Information submitted through our "Submit a Tool" or "Contact Us" forms
Information collected automatically:
- Device and browser type, IP address, and general location (city/country level)
- Pages visited, searches made, and links clicked on the Platform
- Cookies and similar technologies (see the Cookies section and our separate Cookie Policy)
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account
- To show you relevant AI tools, categories, and search results
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send you service emails (receipts, password resets, important updates) and, if you opt in, product news
- To detect fraud, spam, and abuse, and to keep the Platform secure
- To understand how people use AICompass so we can improve it
3. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers who help us run the Platform, including hosting and security (Cloudflare), payments (Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal), email delivery (Mailchimp/Brevo), analytics (Google Analytics), and support chat (Crisp/Tidio)
- Legal reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of AICompass, our users, or the public
- Business transfers — if AICompass is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy
4. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences (like language and dark mode), and understand overall usage patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. See our full Cookie Policy for details on each cookie we use.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay (for Indian customers, including UPI) and Stripe or PayPal (for international customers). These providers receive the payment details needed to process your transaction directly; AICompass does not store your full card number, UPI PIN, or bank credentials on our own servers.
6. How we protect your data
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL via Cloudflare), access controls, and regular security reviews. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects your data, as required by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (via the unsubscribe link)
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law (including the DPDP Act for Indian users and GDPR for users in the European Economic Area).
8. Children's privacy
AICompass is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
AICompass is based in India and serves users globally. If you access the Platform from outside India, your information may be processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as AICompass grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice.
