Why we started AICompass
New AI tools launch every single day, but most directories assume you already know what you're looking for — and are written for developers, not for a teacher, a farmer, or a small business owner trying to save an hour of work. AICompass was built to close that gap: plain-language descriptions, honest reviews, and categories organized around real jobs, not buzzwords.
A note on our name
"AI Compass" gets used by a number of unrelated sites and apps worldwide — it's a natural name for anything about navigating AI. AICompass (aicompass.in) is independently built and operated, is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other similarly named site or app, including any using a hyphenated domain. What sets us apart isn't just the directory — it's the combination of a real tool directory, side-by-side comparisons, paid and free courses, and a marketplace for sponsored listings, in 17 languages, built specifically for India's AI users first and a global audience second.
What we believe
Everyone deserves access to AI, not just people who already work in tech. Whether you're a student in a small town, a shopkeeper managing invoices, or a Fortune 500 procurement team, you should be able to find the right tool in minutes, understand exactly what it does, and know honestly what it costs.
How we make money
AICompass is free to browse. We earn through optional paid plans (Pro and Business) for people who want unlimited saved tools and premium courses, and through clearly labeled sponsored listings — sponsorship never changes a tool's rating or review content.
